Pandora: Stories Take Root

As Creative Director, I would marvel when talent levitates. And with this campaign, our little team did just that, took a straightforward ask from internal partners into something groundbreaking. What I loved about this campaign was the sweet synergy of a fantastic copywriter, Wafa Azeem, and our designers ability to realize our collective vision.

Native American Heritage Month 2022

The Ask: Create a cohesive multi-faceted Pandora campaign that celebrates cultures, traditions, histories and important contributions of Native people, raising general awareness about the unique challenges Native people have faced and are facing, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges.

Wafa’s POV:

“I will tell you something about stories . . . They aren’t just entertainment. Don’t be fooled. They are all we have, you see, all we have to fight off illness and death.”
– Leslie Marmon Silko

Storytelling is the bedrock of rich Native American culture and traditions. It’s how histories get mapped and futures are envisioned. Ancestral voices guide the way as generations pass on the stories before them. These stories trace the joy, resilience, strength, power, beauty, and humanity of a community that refuses to be silenced; these stories take root to create a force strong enough to take on any wind.
