El Pulso is Pandora’s go-to destination for Latin music. We had the opportunity to stream a 360 event with J Balvin himself. And by the way, of all the superstars I’ve worked directly with, he is hands down the most down-to-earth artist, talented of course, but also in deep appreciation for where he is. He was profoundly collaborative.
This animated piece was a few months in the making. During COVID, J Balvin came to a small soundstage and told his story. He came alone, and he was up for anything. Incredible when you consider the scale of his global stardom.
As creative director on this project, I worked closely with our copywriter to hone in on the story, the cadence of it. We handed the elements to an external agency to do the animation. And voila, this joyful piece.
A few months later, in honor of Latin & Hispanic Heritage Month, Pandora hosted the actual event. J Balvin in conversation with Bryant Pinto, with J Balvin performing. I was responsible for the editorial run of show: building out the bumpers, placing sponsorship assets, the interview (including the questions Mr. Pinto asked) and J Balvin’s performance.
Really cool.
